Privacy policy
Metatron is built so that your calls, notes and email stay on your Mac. We don't run a server that receives them, so we can't read, sell or train on them. This page explains the few things that do leave your Mac, and why.
Who we are
This policy covers Metatron, the Mac app, and usemetatron.com ("we"). For anything about privacy, write to support@usemetatron.com.
What stays on your Mac
- Call audio, recordings and transcripts. Speech to text runs on your Mac with Apple's on-device model.
- Your notes, to-dos, reminders and call summaries, saved as files in the folder you choose.
- Your settings, kept in
~/Library/Application Support/Metatronand the macOS Keychain.
We never receive any of it. Delete a file and it's gone; there's no copy anywhere else.
What leaves your Mac, and where it goes
- Your AI provider, if you choose a cloud one. When Metatron writes notes or answers a question with Claude (Anthropic) or ChatGPT (OpenAI), the text being worked on goes to that provider under your own account, plan or key. Their privacy terms apply to it. If you choose a model on your Mac, nothing goes anywhere.
- Apps you connect. Calendar, email and other apps you connect are read on your behalf through your own accounts. You can switch each one off at any time.
- Licence checks. To activate and check your licence, Metatron sends your licence key and your Mac's name to Lemon Squeezy, about once a week.
- Update checks. Metatron asks usemetatron.com whether there's a new version. That request carries no personal data, only your internet address, as any web request does.
Metatron contains no analytics, no tracking and no advertising code.
When you buy
Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, the merchant of record, which processes your payment and taxes. We receive your name, email address, country and order details so we can send your licence, help you and handle refunds. We never see your card details. Lemon Squeezy's own privacy policy covers what it collects.
This website
usemetatron.com sets no cookies and uses no analytics. It's hosted on Cloudflare, which processes your internet address to deliver the pages and protect them from attacks. The page fonts load from Google Fonts, which also sees your internet address.
Email with us
If you write to us, we keep the conversation to help you, and delete it when it's no longer needed for support or the law.
Why we're allowed to use this data
Order and licence data: to deliver what you bought (a contract with you) and to keep tax records (a legal duty). Support email: to answer you (our legitimate interest in helping our customers).
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Write to support@usemetatron.com and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
Metatron isn't meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above, and email customers about anything important.
